Survey Sunday - October 7th 2012

How is it seriously Sunday again? This is crazy!! Today daylight savings switched over and all of our clocks went forward so now it will stay lighter at night time. I can't wait to get home from work and it will still be light outside! We had a BBQ tonight to welcome the arrival of warmer nights and sunshine :)

Now onto this week's questions:

1. How tall are you?

I'm 5 foot 7 inches. I think that equates to about 167 cm. So I'm a pretty average height for a girl.

I never thought anything much of my height before, but at work now I'm surrounded by the shortest, tiniest girls ever so I feel like such a giant!

2. Are you planning your next holiday and where are you going?

I am indeed! I'm planning a trip to America for next May with my boyfriend! It's our first big/international trip together, how exciting :)

At this stage we are planning on going for about 3 and a half weeks. We will spend over a week in New York, then probably do Boston and Washington, and Orlando and Miami in Florida.

ANY OF YOU AMERICANS...PLEASE HELP! Do you have any recommendations of places to go if we want to stick around the east coast? Or if you have ever travelled to that side of America, please help with your advice on where to go! :D

3. What sibling position in your family are you?

I am the oldest and I have one sister who is three years younger.

4. What is your favourite musical/play you've ever seen?

I absolutely loved seeing Wicked on the West End in London. Also The Lion King was probably the most incredible musical overall for all of its crowd involvement, and using the whole theatre and not just the stage. And the songs!

5. What's your favourite board game?

It would be The Game of Life. Or Articulate. My friends and I play Articulate non stop, best game ever. Look it up and buy it... you won't regret it.

6. What's your earliest childhood memory?

It's hard to know what your earliest memory is and whether you are just remembering the home movies or photo albums your parents put together. But I think the earliest memory I have that isn't documented anywhere else is driving with my dad at age 3 to buy our new white car. I remember it so vividly! Odd first memory to have though.

7. What is the most expensive item of clothing you've ever bought?

This is a hard one! I don't tend to hugely splash out on super expensive clothes. Some of my big winter jackets were around the $250-$300 mark, but I think I bought most of them slightly discounted from like $500 or something. So I'd say it's probably something like that.

So now it's your turn to answer the questions. Just copy them into the comments section below. Looking forward to read your answers!

  1. 1. How tall are you?

164cm. I totally agree with you in that I also feel like a giant! The girls at work are all soooo short and so are my friends. I'm a size 10 and I feel obese next to my friends who are all 155cm size 6-8's. In saying that, I love my height (and size!) :)

    2. Are you planning your next holiday and where are you going?

I was going to plan for a holiday to Thailand but those plans are being pushed aside for a little while.

    3. What sibling position in your family are you?

I'm the oldest of 3! I have two younger brothers aged 17 and 7.

    4. What is your favourite musical/play you've ever seen?

    Wicked! I LOVED it.

    5. What's your favourite board game?

I never had board games as a kid!

    6. What's your earliest childhood memory?

Walking around in the streets. Have no idea what street but I must have been about 3.

    7. What is the most expensive item of clothing you've ever bought?

I'm a real bargain hunter when it comes to clothes. The most expensive item of clothing is probably jeans for $140 (and they were on sale!)

    1. Great answers!! It's so funny how the people that surround you can make you feel gigantic or super small depending on their sizes! Ooh Thailand is amazing, particularly Phuket :) I could really go a beach holiday right now!

I know how amazing is Wicked, I have a cousin who's seen it like 20+ times I think!

Really? You never played board games? I still play them now at 23! But more the strategic word challenge type ones :P

Thanks for filling this out, absolutely love reading answers to Survey Sunday questions! xx

    3. I wish I saw it 20+ times! It was playing in Sydney when I was in high school so we got to go for $50. I can't even get my head around how much your cousin spent on tickets to Wicked!

My parents thought board games were a waste of money! I read a lot instead. Now I play things like pictionary board games or taboo.

    6. What's your earliest childhood memory? - making an ugly blue bird out of cardboard with red stickers for eyes.

    1. Oops I can't believe I forgot to include my youngest sister Luna bunny rabbit. Haha!
I thought you were taller that 170? Where are you planning to go down the coast?
I thought you liked musicals/plays! They can be awesome!
Boggle is great I agree. Haha your first memory is funny :P
Seriously...a stethoscope is your most expensive purchase? How very... fashionable of you.

      Haha you are funny :P

  3. 1. How tall are you? 5'5".

    2. Are you planning your next holiday and where are you going? Nope, I have virtually no money at the moment either so a holiday seems very unlikely! :(

    3. What sibling position in your family are you? I'm the youngest of 6! Crazy, I know!

    4. What is your favourite musical/play you've ever seen? I've never really been to see anything and I'm not that into musicals (eek!).

    5. What's your favourite board game? It's not technically a board game, but Jenga is the best game ever!

    6. What's your earliest childhood memory? Similar to you, I have an early memory of my mum and dad buying a big black van!

    7. What is the most expensive item of clothing you've ever bought? I don't think I've ever really had anything particularly expensive. It's probably, like you, a coat that was around the £40 mark.

  4. 1. How tall are you? Somewhere between 5'5" and 5'6"

    2. Are you planning your next holiday and where are you going? I have to start planning it actually! I'm hoping to go to Edinburgh with a friend over Christmas. :)

    3. What sibling position in your family are you? I'm an only child, so no siblings for me!

    4. What is your favourite musical/play you've ever seen? Unfortunately, I haven't seen that many plays or musicals, so nothing comes to mind. I do want to see The Lion King, though!

    5. What's your favourite board game? The Game of Life, Clue, Twister (does that qualify as a board game? oh well!) - I could go on and on, I love board games!

    6. What's your earliest childhood memory? Not sure - maybe my first day of nursery school when I was 4? I cried my eyes out because I didn't like the look of the place - it was dark and dingy and in a basement! Needless to say, my parents put me into another one.

    7. What is the most expensive item of clothing you've ever bought? I don't buy any particularly expensive clothes - and even when I do, I tend to wait for the sales to get them heavily discounted. In fact, just yesterday, I bought a Kookai coat that was originally priced at £160 for £48 on brandalley. So maybe that counts? :)

I'm the baby of the family, all my siblings are older

    4. What is your favourite musical/play you've ever seen?

    5. What's your favourite board game?
MONOPOLY - BEST GAME ON THE PLANET

    6. What's your earliest childhood memory?
My earliest memory is of me getting plasters on my legs when I was about 3 (its odd I know)

    7. What is the most expensive item of clothing you've ever bought?
I'm the type of person who will usually wait for a birthday or xmas if I want a item of clothing thats more expensive, but I would probably have to say a pair of gorgeous italian made heels that I own, they were originally $500 but I got them at an amazing discount at the boxing day sales last year (it's a bit of a cheat answer to the question but I'm going with it)

    Yay for Sunday surveys!!

  6. AAH you are coming to the USA?!?!? I will definitely have to give you recommendations... though I'm on the west coast right now it's likely I'll be on the east coast later this year! If that's the case, I'm sure I'll familiarize myself with a lot of things before May!

    1. How tall are you? 5'6''

    2. Are you planning your next holiday and where are you going? Haven't planned the next holiday yet, but I imagine it will be xmas, and I'll most likely be visiting family on the west coast for at least part of it!

    3. What sibling position in your family are you? Oldest!

    4. What is your favourite musical/play you've ever seen? I saw a performance of Much Ado About Nothing last year and loved it... the actors were so funny! I have never been to a musical but I would love to see one!

    5. What's your favourite board game? I haven't played a board game in ages... I have no idea!

    6. What's your earliest childhood memory? I remember playing outside in my backyard in California.. there was a plum tree with a kiddy swing and tiny clovers in the grass. Hard to say if this is my earliest memory, but it is definitely one of the first!

    7. What is the most expensive item of clothing you've ever bought? It would probably be a gown by Karen Millen that I wore for a very special occasion... I don't tend to go for expensive clothing very often!
