Survey Sunday - September 30th 2012

It's Survey Sunday time once again! Here are this week's questions:

1. Have you ever met or encountered someone famous? If so who, and where?
Sadly my celebrity sightings are sitting at a bare minimum. On my first day in Italy I was wandering around the Vatican and bumped into Kate Voegele and her boyfriend. She is a famous singer in America and she plays Mia Catalano on One Tree Hill. We went to the bathroom at the same time and SHARED a hand dryer. Can you believe my excitement?! Also my friend called out ‘Kate’ to me and SHE ALSO LOOKED. Isn’t that incredible right?

My sneaky photo of Kate Voegele!

More interested in taking sneaky shots of her than looking at the beautiful floor oops!

My cousin is also a famous Australian actor so I’ve met quite a few Aussie actors he’s worked with/is friends with. Other than that I can’t think of a time when I’ve randomly spotted a celebrity unfortunately.

2. Have you ever been to Australia/seen a kangaroo or koala/tasted Vegemite?
I have done all of these things numerous times, funnily enough. However kangaroos don’t just hop down the street and koalas don’t just climb suburban trees so you have to go more rural/to the zoo to see those. I’m always asked this when I travel! Also Vegemite is amazing, but not everyone's taste.

3. What were some of your favourite book series when you were a child?
Harry Potter, The Famous Five and all of Enid Blyton’s books such as The Magic Faraway Tree and The Wishing Chair, Deltora Quest, A Series of Unfortunate Events.

4. What is your favourite sweet biscuit and chocolate bar?
Favourite sweet biscuit would be Tim Tams (have you guys tried these!?! If not get your hands on some pronto). Favourite chocolate bar would probably be Twix, Mars Bar or Milky Way! I am odd because I really don't like M&Ms - the chocolate tastes bad in them!

5. What are your top three favourite eyeshadows to use on your eyes?
Satin Taupe, Patina and Naked Lunch (all by MAC).

6. What has been your favourite themed party you’ve ever attended?
That Harry Potter one I planned would come in one of the top spots for me! Also my mum threw me incredible themed parties throughout my whole childhood so all of those (thanks Mum!!). Plus anything from a cool era (20s/60s/80s) where you can dress like someone from that time.

7. What is your all time favourite mascara?
This is hard because I haven’t found my Holy Grail one yet. I’ve currently got testers of Diorshow Extase, Chanel Inimitable, and YSL’s Shocking, of which I prefer the YSL. So it is most likely I will purchase YSL’s Shocking soon as it seems to be my consistent favourite!

Now it's your turn, copy and paste the questions and answer them in the comments below!

  2. 1. Have you ever met or encountered someone famous? If so who, and where?
I once met someone called Handy Andy who was in a show over here called Changing Rooms, because I won a drawing competition at school - that really is as exciting as it gets. Haha.(I love how excited you were about the shared hand dryer! Haha!)

    2. Have you ever been to Australia/seen a kangaroo or koala/tasted Vegemite?
Unfortunately not! I've heard that Vegemite is like our version of Marmite though, which is yummy?

    3. What were some of your favourite book series when you were a child?
I was obsessed with Jacqueline Wilson like most girls, but I liked lots of fantasy stories too.

    4. What is your favourite sweet biscuit and chocolate bar?
I'm not entirely sure what a sweet biscuit is - is that like a cookie? Haha. If so, I love Jammy Dodgers (if you know what those are?). My favourite chocolate bar's gotta be Cadbury's Twirl.

    5. What are your top three favourite eyeshadows to use on your eyes?
No particular brand, but I like to have a matte black, brown and shimmery white.

    6. What has been your favourite themed party you’ve ever attended?
My friend once had an OAP night where we went round town to the clubs dressed as old people - that was HILARIOUS.

    7. What is your all time favourite mascara?
I also haven't found my holy grail, but I love one by 17 at the moment (though I don't think you have that in Aussie!).

    1. Haha wow you won a drawing competition!? Nice work! Are you really arty? Haha yes I was so excited about the hand dryer incident :P

Oh yes I think it is very similar to Marmite, I wonder which came first. My mum is now saying Marmite is hideous and not as nice as Vegemite haha. Guess you better try Vegemite huh?! :P

Oh I loved Jacqueline Wilson, i'd completely forgotten about those books. I have basically all of them in a cupboard somewhere!

Haha have you never heard of the term sweet biscuit? Yes it is a cookie, I thought cookie was an American way of saying sweet biscuit. I didn't realise English people said it too!

Oh I don't know if I have had a twirl, I should try to find one!

What does OAP stand for? Haha that sounds like a hilarious night when you were all dressed as old people!

      Great answers Maya! x

  3. Your Survey Sundays are so much fun!
Let me give this a shot

    1. Have you ever met or encountered someone famous? If so who, and where?
No, I do see many famous people when I'm working. To be honest, I'm not really impressed by someone famous. They're not more human than we are.
    2. Have you ever been to Australia/seen a kangaroo or koala/tasted Vegemite?
    I wish I had!!
    3. What were some of your favourite book series when you were a child?
Harry Potter, definitely. I carried those books with me everywhere I went. I kept reading until 5 am. I got mad when I couldn't read.
    4. What is your favourite sweet biscuit and chocolate bar?
Nuts! I love the combination of caramel and hazelnuts
    5. What are your top three favourite eyeshadows to use on your eyes?
A bronze shade and a black with silver shimmer, both Max Factor. And uhm.. Charlie's chocolate factory of Catrice (intensif'eye)
    6. What has been your favourite themed party you’ve ever attended?
I've never attended one. Boring, I know..
    7. What is your all time favourite mascara?
MaxFactor's Masterpiece! I've used many mascaras but this is the only one that gives length and spreads my lashes properly. Also gives volume, but not too much! Perfect! (I have very thick lashes. Too much volume = tarantula lashes)

I had fun filling this in!! Thanks for giving us the opportunity!! :)
