Cupcake nails

Sweet nails huh?!

They make me hungry just looking at them!

They look complicated but they aren't too difficult to achieve at all.

All you need to do is follow these steps:

  1. Paint a base colour all over nail (I chose baby blue)
  2. Paint the top half of each of your nails a different solid colour which will form the patty pan (I used green, red, white, purple and grey). Don't worry if it's messy as the 'icing' will cover it
  3. Using a steady hand, paint a few vertical lines over the 'patty pan' (I used purple, pink, yellow, blue and pink)
  4. Blob on top of the patty pan the icing (I used pink, brown and white). Try and make the bottom part of the icing curve around a bit to look like icing drips
  5. Paint on some dots for sprinkles
  6. Glob a bit of glitter polish on the top to finish it off
  7. Finish with a good top coat to make it last for ages
Voila... nails good enough to eat!

  1. Wow, you must have heaps of polishes! Question: I want my manicure to last longer, but don't want have to cake on layers of polish (pardon the pun). Any tips on a good top coat?

  2. Oh I have so many! Thanks for your comment :)
The absolute best top coat I have ever come across is called Seche Vite. It gives your nails a professional manicure finish, and leaves them so glossy and strong, plus it dries so quickly. My nails last at least a week and a half with this topcoat. I'll do a post on it soon on here actually. In the meantime, you can buy it really cheaply on eBay.
    Hope that helps!
